4-star OT Nick Brooks sets commitment date, names top three schools

Loganville (Ga.) Grayson four-star offensive tackle Nick Brooks is ready to make a commitment ahead of his senior season.

On Wednesday, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported that Brooks will announce his decision on August 23, choosing between Texas, Georgia and USC.

Each program hosted him for official visits this summer and has made their way into his final list.

“It could be any of the three schools today,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons last week. “I am going to keep talking to the coaches at all three schools, make sure I have all my questions answered and then go over things with my family. At different times, I have the different schools on top of my list. It has been fluid because of the relationships and how I like all three a lot, but I want to make a decision soon.

… I thought I would be committed already, but I know it is coming this month.”

Brooks was at one time committed to Iowa and also lived in the Hawkeye State, but is now back in Georgia playing for powerhouse Grayson.

However, location isn’t his top priority.

“The No. 1 thing for me is the chance to play and compete for early playing time,” he told Simmons. “NIL is important too, and that would be No. 2 on my list. Then it comes down to relationships, family and how I feel about the school.

… Family is very important to me, so that family feeling and what school makes me and my family feel best will be a factor.”

The 6-foot-7, 360-pounder is the No. 208 overall prospect and No. 17 offensive tackle in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
