4-star OL Ziyare Addison looking to grow connection with Miami following recent offer

With new offers continuing to roll out for 2025 prospects across the country, Tampa (Fla.) Sumner High School offensive lineman Ziyare Addison became one of the most recent athletes to earn an offer from the Miami Hurricanes.
After conversations with Hurricanes offensive line coach Alex Mirabal, the four-star prospect added the Miami offer to his growing list of programs, which features the likes of Florida State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Ole Miss, UCLA, Oregon, and others.
“It was a great feeling, truly,” Addison told CaneSport. “I don’t know too much about Miami, but I know they brought in a lot of good offensive linemen last year. So they must be doing something right down there or have an offensive line guru down there for all these elite offensive linemen going to Miami.”
Despite not knowing much about the University of Miami, the 6-foot-5, 270-pounder is eager to learn more about the Hurricanes and has a somewhat unique connection to the program.
Over the last year, Addison has been training with former Miami offensive lineman Tyree St. Louis, who played in Coral Gables from 2015-2018.
“My trainer, Tyree St. Louis, played all four years at Miami, so it meant a lot for me to get that scholarship,” Addison said. “He was pumped and excited for me.”
During his conversation with Mirabal, the Hurricanes’ offensive line coach praised Addison for his athleticism and versatility, which was a big reason why they offered the former defensive lineman, who recently made the switch to the offensive side of the ball.
“He told me he liked my athleticism at the position in the trenches,” Addison said. “I was originally a defensive lineman in high school, and the next year I transitioned to the offensive line. One of my coaches told me you could be a really good defensive lineman in college or a first-round pick offensive lineman, so it was really a no-brainer for me. Since I made the move, the offers have started to roll in.”
Addison, who is the No. 195 overall prospect in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Ranking, also says the opportunity to potentially play under Miami head coach Mario Cristobal, who is a former offensive lineman himself, makes Miami more intriguing.
“That’s bigtime because that really gives me the idea that he really understands his offensive linemen more than any other head coach in the country,” Addison said. “I feel like an offense will roll better if a head coach really knows the offensive line positions.”
While a visit is not yet set in stone, Addison hopes to get down to Coral Gables as he looks to develop a bond with the Hurricanes moving forward.
“Yes, it is most definitely in the conversation to take a visit to the school,” Addison exclaimed. “I love the city, and I really want to learn about the history and what type of offensive linemen and talent they have produced. I just want to also learn more about the offensive line coach and his plan for me if I go to that school.”
CaneSport’s take
The offer may still be relatively fresh, but there is no doubt that Addison’s interest in the Hurricanes is high. The Florida native is eager to learn more about the program and build a relationship with the staff, so it will be intriguing to see how things unfold moving forward.
