4-star Mississippi DL Reginald Vaughn: Auburn game day experience ‘tops everything’

AUBURN – Auburn’s two home games so far have been littered with 2025 talent. Another 4-star for the class of 2025 made his first game day visit to Auburn on Saturday during the Samford game. Reginald “Reggie” Vaughn, a 4-star 2025 defensive lineman from Jackson (Miss.) Hartfield Academy, took in the full experience on Saturday.
Vaughn is a 4-star across the board with each major recruiting Industry. He is the No. 173 overall player in the country, the No. 19 defensive lineman, and the No. 7 player in the state of Mississippi according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Vaughn says there has not been a game day atmosphere yet that tops Auburn. It exceeded expectations.
“Yes sir, first game,” Vaughn said. “It was actually more than what I thought. The atmosphere, I just love it. It tops everything.”
He was also impressed with how the team performed on both offense and defense.
“Man, I love the atmosphere here,” Vaughn said. “The crowd just rocks and the way they play is like as one unit. The defense just did a spectacular job. The offense, the quarterback can run, they just move well as a unit on the O-Line. I just loved it here.”
Vaughn will be back
Vaughn has been in talks with Auburn defensive line coaches Vontrell King-Williams and Jeremy Garrett. They think he can play multiple positions on the defensive front.
“Coach King-Williams, yes sir, the D-Line coaches,” Vaughn said. “Defensive line, all across. They’ve been telling me it is just one big family, one organization.”
What has been the message from Garrett and King-Williams?
“Just talking with him all the time, wanting me to come down here, they would love to have me down here,” Vaughn said. “It’s just like a big family.”
The style of play by the defensive line caught Vaughn’s eye on Saturday.
“Man, they just caused destruction on the defensive line,” Vaughn said. “They stopped the run game, the quarterback didn’t have too much to do in the pocket. They made him roll out and ended drives.”
Auburn is up there for Vaughn after this visit and he made a promise that he will be back.
“They’re pretty high, I enjoyed it,” Vaughn said. “I’m definitely coming back here. I don’t know when, but I have to come back.”
