4-star Louisville RB commit Duke Watson adds offer from Auburn, plans to visit soon

Mary Persons (Forsyth, Ga.) four-star running back Duke Watson on Friday added an offer from Auburn football.
Watson, who is committed to Louisville, learned of the offer during a conversation with Auburn running backs coach Carnell Williams.
“Coach Cadillac messaged me on Twitter,” Watson said. “It was the first time I’d heard from him and Auburn. He messaged me and told me to hit him up when I could. I called him and he told me that he’d watched my film and really liked it. He told me how Auburn is a good program and then offered me.”
It was welcomed news to Watson.
“It felt great,” he said. “I felt really great. I went to Auburn last year for a game. Went to the Western Kentucky game (in November) and liked it. I like Auburn.”
Watson plans to visit Auburn soon
Watson, now that he has an offer, plans to return to the Plains soon.
“Most definitely,” he said. “I’ll definitely be back. I like Auburn. I’ve been watching them for a long time. They are a good program. Bo Jackson is my favorite running back from there. I watched Coach Cadillac, too. I also watched them when Cam Newton was there. I’m pretty familiar with Auburn.”
Watson said the Tigers are now in the mix. He’s committed to Louisville and has been since June 11, but Auburn could change it.
“I’m committed to Louisville, but I’m still going through the recruiting process,” he said. “I’m going to talk more with Auburn and Coach Cadillac. We’ve only talked one time, so we’ll talk more and start building a relationship.
Watson, who is listed at 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds, previously was committed to Georgia Tech. He is ranked the No. 383 overall recruit in the country in 2024. He also ranks the No. 31 running back in the class and No. 47 overall recruit in Georgia.
As a junior, Watson rushed for nearly 1,700 yards and 14 touchdowns. He averaged 8.3 yards per carry.
According to the Visitor Center in his On3 profile, Watson has taken official visits to Louisville (June 9-11) and to UCF on June 16-18. He also has taken unofficial visits to Ole Miss, N.C. State and Georgia Tech. He had an official visit to Penn State set for early June, but did not take it.
“I just really feel like I’m an SEC, Big Ten running back,” he told On3.
