4-star LB Kamar Archie commits to in-state Rutgers
Trenton (N.J.) Hun School four-star linebacker Kamar Archie has committed to Rutgers, he announced on Friday.
He chose the Scarlet Knights over Clemson and Michigan in a major in-state recruiting win for head coach Greg Schiano, defensive coordinator Joe Harasymiak and Co.
Archie is the No. 261 overall prospect and No. 28 LB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 9 player in New Jersey.
On3 ranks the 6-foot-0.5, 220-pounder higher than other recruiting services. He checks in at No. 196 overall, No. 21 at the LB position and No. 7 in the Garden State.
Archie has been a frequent visitor in Piscataway throughout his recruitment, logging multiple trips a year since 2022. He now headlines Rutgers’ 2025 recruiting class — which quietly checks in inside the top 20 of the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.
Across three high school seasons, Archie has racked up over 160 tackles while also excelling as a running back, tallying over 1,500 yards on the ground and 20 touchdowns. He’s now the fourth LB commit in Rutgers’ class.
