4-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson taking note of the Gators’ consistency: ‘Florida has been there in my recruitment since day one’

With multiple trips to Gainesville already in the books for this year, 2025 four-star EDGE Isaiah Gibson is now gearing up for his third trip to the Swamp. It will be for a game this fall.
Hailing from Warner Robins (Ga.) High, the 6-foot-5, 257-pound rising junior first visited the Gators on April 6 and landed a scholarship offer while in town. He then returned to campus a week later for the Orange and Blue Game, so there is already plenty of familiarity between both parties.

“Florida has been there in my recruitment since day one. I went down there and everything was amazing. From the conversation with the players and coaches, everything feels comfortable when I go down there,” Gibson told Gators Online.
“I would say Florida is one of the schools I feel more comfortable at and a school I could see myself playing at as a true freshman. Me and my mom went to Florida for a visit and stayed the entire day. It was that amazing; me and her enjoyed every moment of it.”
According to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies, Gibson is the No. 21-ranked EDGE and No. 249-ranked prospect overall. That is where the Gators see him fitting in as well. They call it the JACK position.
With that projection, the Gators have assigned outside linebackers coach Mike Peterson to Gibson’s recruitment as the primary recruiter.
“It’s been going good with them. I have mostly been in touch with Mike P,” said Gibson. “We are having good talks about everything and in the program.”
Gibson is feeling like a priority for a handful of programs
During the 2022 season, the blue-chip defender accumulated 42 tackles (33 solo), 23 hurries, 11 tackles for loss, six sacks and three pass deflections. As expected, that attracted a number of additional programs, including Georgia, LSU, USC, Oregon, Tennessee, Florida State, Auburn and Tennessee.
According to Gibson, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, Oregon, LSU, Michigan and Louisville are recruiting him the hardest right now.
“I honestly have no idea. It’s all in a thought process. I don’t have a handful of schools or a single school I am right onto,” Gibson replied when asked if there are any front runners in his recruitment.
The Gamecocks, according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine, hold the slight edge over the Gators for Gibson’s commitment.
