4-star 2025 LB Jadon Perlotte: ‘It’s good to go out and explore’
Buford (Ga.) 2025 four-star linebacker Jadon Perlotte was Georgia’s first commit in the class of 2025. The No. 45 overall prospect in the 2025 On300 committed back in December.
Since he committed, some new opportunities have arisen. Perlotte is still committed to Georgia and he doesn’t expect that to change any time soon. Perlotte talks to Georgia head coach Kirby Smart on a regular basis.
“I’m 100 percent locked in,” Perlotte told On3. “I talk to coach (Kirby) Smart every day. It’s always ‘go Dawgs’.”
Perlotte hasn’t shied away from exploring his options just to be sure that Georgia is where wants to be. He didn’t get to see a lot of programs prior to locking in with Georgia.
Now, is the time for the four-star linebacker to do that. In the last month, Perlotte has visited Alabama, Florida State, USC, UCLA and Texas A&M.
“I’m just looking at new opportunities,” Perlotte said. “It’s good to go out and explore, see all the facilities, meet new coaches, see the nation and see what’s out there. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
USC made an impression on Jadon Perlotte
Perlotte made his way to Los Angeles for the first time on March 18. The Trojans offered Perlotte on the visit. The Trojans have made Perlotte a priority. He’s had talks with linebacker coach Brian Odom, who sees a major opportunity for Perlotte in the Trojans’ defense.
“It’s a different lifestyle in that environment,” Perlotte said. “I love it. They want to really use me and start in my freshman year. He brought up how they’d use me at safety, linebacker, nickel everywhere. He showed me that’s not just about him. Coach Odom wants to get me to the league and develop. I really listened to that.”
The Trojans sported the Heisman Trophy winner Caleb Williams on offense. The Trojans’ defense has Perlotte’s attention as well.
He’s always had a soft spot for USC. Perlotte has grown up a fan of former Trojan Troy Polamalu. Perlotte wears number 43 in honor of the former Steeler great.
“They weren’t bad last year,” Perlotte said of USC’s defense. “I’ve always been a Troy Polamalu fan. That’s why I wear 43. I used to watch him. They’re in a developing stage. I feel like in the next couple of years, they’ll be back where they used to be.”
Perlotte is likely to take a few more visits this spring though he’s still solidifying his plans for the next few weeks.
