3-2-1: Kansas State expected to remain in hunt for top 20 prospect Derrion Reid

THREE THINGS WE LEARNED ABOUT KANSAS STATE
2. Rucker Park: Brett Yormark, at the time that K-State was playing in the NCAA Tournament at Madison Square Garden in New York City, struck a deal to have the coaches in the league conduct some youth camps at Rucker Park for a bit more exposure and contact for the league. That happened this week, and Kansas State probably had the heaviest contingent. Not only were both head coaches Jerome Tang and Jeff Mittie in tow, but they were joined by Nae’Qwan Tomlin, Markquis Nowell and assistant Jareem Dowling.
3. No deal for the Pac-12: Stop me if you’ve heard this before. The Pac-12 swears that a media rights deal will be completed and announced in “the very near future” but will have nothing to share this week when Media Days begins in Las Vegas. They may run out the clock before it’s all said and done, and if the buzzer sounds, K-State may be reunited after all with Colorado.
TWO QUESTIONS
1. Two spots: I have been asked several times already this week about the two remaining scholarship spots for the Kansas State basketball team. KSO is not aware of any movement or traction being made with any targets. The pool of talent is not exactly overflowing at the moment.
2. Two targets: Will K-State targets Grant Brix and Michael Boganowski make their announcements this month? If they do, who will be the winning schools? Those are questions that do not yet have answers.

ONE K-STATE PREDICTION
1. Final contender: After reaching out to multiple sources following the article that was posted by Jamie Shaw of On3 about potential five-star wing Derrion Reid, we learned a bit more about his recruitment. Though he has yet to make trips to Lawrence and Tuscaloosa, Kansas and Alabama will play considerable roles in his recruitment. With that being said, it is widely accepted that Kansas State will be a final contender for his services and one of the schools he’s considering when making his college choice.
