2026 TE Kendre Harrison has strong first impression of Georgia
Getting off the bus Reidsville (N.C.) tight end Kendre Harrison turns heads. The rising sophomore stands 6-foot-7 and weighs 230 or more pounds. When walking around Athens on Saturday, the comparisons immediately begin.
He left Georgia with an offer from the Bulldogs on Saturday while attending the annual G-Day Game. The Bulldogs’ offer is one that immediately jumps out to Harrison.
Harrison says the highlight of his freshman year came later. He was able to meet the man whom his size elicits comparisons to; Darnell Washington. Harrison posted a photo of Washington to announce his attendance at G-Day.
Washington attended G-Day where he and other former Bulldogs that have moved on were honored and given national championship rings.
Harrison got Washington’s cellphone number.
“Meeting Darnell (Washington) was the highlight of my year,” Harrison said. “He gave me his number so hopefully we can chat it up one day.”
Kendre Harrison has high respect for Georgia tight end room
Harrison got the opportunity to spend time with Georgia tight end coach Todd Hartley prior to the scrimmage on Saturday.
Hartley extended the offer to the 6-foot7, 230-pound rising sophomore prior to the game. Harrison enjoyed his time with Hartley. He immediately made a connection with Hartley.
Harrison felt like a priority for the Bulldogs even though he’s three years away from college football.
“How coach Hartley showed a lot of love for me stood out,” Harrison said. “It meant a lot to me a great coach and being able to hang with him was really cool.”
At Georgia, the tight end room is usually a topic of discussion. Washington catch headlines as a massive athlete in his three years at Georgia. Brock Bowers has been a playmaker since he stepped on campus three years ago.
The next wave includes Oscar Delp, Lawson Luckie and Pearce Sprulin. Georgia already has a commitment from Landon Thomas in the class of 2024.
They landed the commitment of 2025 tight end Elyiss Williams last week. Williams is also 6-foot-6, and 230 pounds.
Harrison has a lot of respect for the things going on in the tight-end room in Athens.
“I feel like Georgia has had one of the greatest tight end groups ever and I love how coach Hartley develops tight end well,” Harrison said.
Now that he has an offer from Georgia, Harrison doesn’t plan on resting. With the offer comes a target.
“Now that I have that offer I know I have to keep working and keep my head on straight and not let a lot of things get to me,” Harrison said. “I’m just blessed to have an opportunity to be able to play. That is a blessing.”
