2026 OL Grant Wise gets ‘joy and excitement’ from Georgia offer

Milton (Fla.) Pace 2026 offensive lineman Grant Wise walked out of Athens after Georgia’s camp on July 28 with a dream offer. Georgia extended an offer following the Bulldogs’ last camp day of the summer ahead of the 2023 football season.
Wise, a 6-foot-4, 290-pound sophomore worked in front of Georgia offensive line coach Stacy Searels and made an impression on the longtime offensive line coach. Wise is considered an interior offensive lineman.
“Coach Searels said I did very well at camp, and he said he was impressed with my film,” Wise said.
Wise was able to meet Searels and his wife following the camp. Searels personally told Wise about the offer, to which Wise was overflowing with big emotions.
“I felt a rush of joy and excitement,” Wise said.
Wise is from Florida but Georgia has always had a special place in Wise’s heart. He has family near the Athens area.
The offer was also a big one because of Georiga’s recent pedigree of winning championships. Wise felt a bit of validation for the things he’s been working on to improve as a player over the last few years.
“Getting an offer from Georgia shows me that all of the hard work is beginning to pay off, but it also motivates me to keep working and getting better,” Wise said. “Georgia is also a big offer because they are back-to-back national champs and a lot of my family lives close to Athens where I have a lot of childhood memories.”
Grant Wise enjoys a tour of Georgia
Wise had the chance to take in the Georgia facility after the camp. He took a look around Athens as well. While on campus Wise was also able to hear from multiple staff members. Those conversations revealed a bit of Georgia’s culture and personality as a program.
There was a major standout to the offensive lineman while touring the facilities.
“The weight room was my favorite part of the tour,” Wise said. “The facilities are amazing. The coaches that I met were very easy to talk to.”
Wise now holds 10 Division I offers. In-state Florida State has the advantage early on according to On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine.
The Seminoles were one of the first to offer Wise. They currently have a 48.6 percent chance of landing Wise according to RPM. Florida and Georgia round out the top three for Wise early in his recruitment.
