2026 4-Star Safety Craig Tutt Planning Game Day Visit to Kentucky

It’s been almost three months since 2026 four-star defensive back Craig Tutt added an offer from Kentucky. Now, he’s starting to eye a visit.

The 6-foot, 180-pound safety from Oakland (Murfreesboro, TN) told KSR+ that he’s hearing from the Kentucky coaches “every once in a while.” He called the staff “good communicators, good coaches, and good people.”

“They’re a great program, a winning program, they care about their players, and they develop players really well,” Tutt said.

Tutt hasn’t been on campus at Kentucky yet. He was supposed to visit in either June or July, but had to push it back.

“Things got hectic,” he said. “I’m hoping to go up there for a game.”

For a gameday visit, Tutt would be taking in a lot of different factors. He wants to see how the staff builds a relationship with him.

“[I want to see] the atmosphere, the coaches, how the coaches are in-person, how the players are, how the players act around the coaches and the relationships,” he said.

His Wider Recruitment

Craig Tutt has no shortage of schools involved in his recruitment. The main schools in contact lately have been Tennessee, Michigan, Auburn, Clemson, and USC, among others.

“The experience has been great,” Tutt said. “It’s all new to me. I didn’t really expect this. It’s all new to me. I’m still taking it as it comes. I’m excited for the next two years.”

Tutt recently visited Michigan. He’s also taken visits to Clemson, Vanderbilt, and Tennessee.

“I’m looking to go to a couple of schools for a couple of games,” he said. “Michigan, Tennessee, Alabama, and as many schools as I can go to.”

Tutt isn’t just focused on football at the next level. He wants to be prepared for life after the game.

“What I’m looking for is great relationship-building and tools after football,” he said. “My dad always preaches that if football was taken away right now, what would I have? It’s hard to answer that question. I’m working on building my life outside of football and using football to gather up my life even more.”

2026 four-star safety Craig Tutt of Oakland (TN) is the nation’s No. 306 overall prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 ranks Tutt as the No. 41 safety and the No. 21 best player in Tennessee.

“I feel like I can tackle anybody and I’m not afraid to hit,” Tutt said. “I come down and just hit. That’s my greatest strength.”

Tutt has focused on his man-to-man coverage throughout the spring and summer. He’s worked with his defensive backs coach, his trainer, and other college players to hone in on that.

“I’ve improved on that and I’m a lot better,” he said. “I can play in any scheme at the college level as long as I put my mind to it, train, and put effort into it.”
