2025 WR Taz Williams Jr. is high on Alabama following first visit: “They’re up there.”

To kick off spring practice, Alabama played host to a handful of recruits on March 20. One visitor flew somewhat under the radar as he visited that day, but posted photos from his visit this week: Taz Williams Jr.

Williams, a 2025 wideout from Red Oak (Tx) High, pointed to his conversation with Nick Saban as the highlight of his first-ever trip to Bama.

“He had told us about all the programs they have for the players on and off the field,” Williams told BamaInsider. “Programs for them to stay out of trouble, do the right thing, how to answer interview questions, and how to be a better man. Talking about campus and football and how they’ve made people so successful.”

During their time together, Saban also praised Williams for his versatility, speed, and how smart he is. Alabama extended him an offer during the January contact period.

Williams spent a good amount of time with Saban, though he only got to see a small portion of the practice.

“I only got to see them practice for like 25 minutes,” Williams said. “I saw them warm up and break off into teams. Saw some good stuff.”

It’s early on for Williams, but the four-star pass catcher thinks highly of the Crimson Tide following this experience.

“They’re up there. They’re one of the schools I will consider,” Williams said of the Crimson Tide. “The life after football really caught my eye. That’s real big to me. Also, the academics.”

Taz Williams: Alabama wide receiver production is “nonstop.”

Continuing with his visit last week, Williams had an opportunity to meet Holmon Wiggins face to face.

Alabama’s wide receivers coach made a good first impression on Williams.

“When I first met him, I noticed that he’s not like everybody else,” Williams said of Wiggins. “He’s very different when it comes to the football stuff. I just like him, to be honest. He’s fun to be around.”

Prior to Wiggins’ arrival — and especially more so during his tenure — Bama has regularly produced wide receivers as high NFL Draft picks. That has caught Williams’ attention.

“That, too. That’s real big,” Williams said. “They develop a lot of great receivers that become great players at the next level. They just keep producing like a factory. It’s nonstop.”

Prior to visiting Alabama, Williams made stops at Georgia Tech on March 17 and Georgia on March 18. He’s slated to head to TCU on April 1, then will make a big trip up north to see Ohio State on April 21, Notre Dame on April 22, and Michigan on April 24.

Alabama fans, also be sure to join the discussion about Taz Williams on the Talk of Champions message board. There’s always a lot of great team, recruiting, and off-topic conversations going on. So, we look forward to talking with you all there!
