2025 Top-100 prospect Tarvos Alford is ready to get back to Miami this weekend

2025 Top-100 prospect Tarvos Alford is ready to get back to Miami this weekend

Tarvos Alford is a national recruit. The four-star linebacker out of Vero Beach (Fla.) is the No. 73 prospect in the 2025 On3 Industry Rankings. Since Aug. 1, when college coaches could start reaching out to the prospects in Alford’s class, elite programs have been in contact.

Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State, Rutgers, Penn State and Tennessee are some of the schools reaching out the most over the last five weeks.

The 6-foot-2, 204-pound junior is ready to get back to one of those schools this weekend. He will make the trip down I-9 to Coral Gables, a place he is very familiar with, to see Miami take on Texas A&M.

“I have been to Miami five times,” Alford told On3. “I was there in the summer and I will be back for the Texas A&M game. The tradition at Miami is something I have always liked. I am in south Florida, so Miami is a program I have known about my whole life. It is close to home, my dad lives in Miami and it would be cool to stay home at Miami.”

Miami is off to a 1-0 start after a 70-13 win over Bethune-Cookman in week one. Alford is ready to see what this team looks like under Mario Cristobal.

“This is a big game for them and I am expecting a big jump in year two under Coach Mario Cristobal. Coach Cristobal is building the program back up and getting it back to the old days. They have brought some good players in and now I want to see how they play in a big game.”

How they play could impact Alford’s interest. He wants to see improvement on the field. The staff is doing a great job recruiting him off the field.

“I have been talking to Coach Derek Nicholson once a week and he is a great guy. He has high energy, he always keeps me hyped and I am excited to see him again this weekend. Miami is showing consistent love and I like the coaching staff a lot.”

Alford is working to cut his list down in the near future. Miami has a good chance at making that initial cut.

“I like Miami,” Alford added. “I am thinking about cutting my list down to 8-10 schools something this season. It is about that family feeling and who is making me feel important. I have close to 30 offers, so I am working to get it down to a smaller number.”
