2025 Top-100 DL Michael Riles one to monitor for USC this fall

USC has been expanding their footprint in Texas over the past two cycles and has been finding some success. Lincoln Riley and the rest of the staff has been prioritizing the Lone Star state at several positions. One of the positions the Trojans will be continuously working to strengthen in that part of the country will be the defensive line. One name to monitor in the Trojans pursuing is Port Arthur (Tex.) Memorial top-100 defensive lineman Michael Riles.

Riles is the No. 83 overall prospect and No. 8 defensive lineman in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 13 player in Texas.

On3 is higher on Riles than the rest of the industry, ranking him as the No. 53 overall prospect in the 2025 class.

Riles was offered by USC in January earlier this year. USC was the fifth offer for Riles. The communication between the two sides has been minimal to this point but Riles is extremely interested in progressing his relationship and communication with the Trojan staff moving forward.

Riles has spent his summer focusing on preparing for his junior season and has not spent much time focusing on what schools are pursuing him. He says though this fall he will likely be releasing a top-10. He will use some time in the fall to research and focus on the schools courting him.

Riles tells me USC is surely in the running to land in the first top group of his recruitment. Riles did not want to name any other schools who might make the group but you can expect Texas A&M, Texas, Houston, Texas Tech, and Baylor as some likely names featured.
