2025 Ohio RB Jonathan Stevens talks Purdue visit
Jonathan Stevens visited Purdue last weekend for the Illinois game without a Purdue scholarship offer. When he left West Lafayette, he had one.
“I wasn’t surprised,” he said. “(Running backs) Coach (Lamar) Conard told me to come on the visit so he could offer me.”
“I went out on the field and tried to picture myself out there with their atmosphere, just trying to picture myself in it. I try to do that every time where I visit and have been offered. It was pretty cool.”
In addition to Purdue, the 6-0, 180-pound Stevens has offers from the likes of Akron, Bowling Green, Miami (Ohio) and Toledo, among others.
In addition to playing running back for North High in Westerville, Ohio, Stevens also plays receiver.
“So, I’m all over the field,” said Stevens, who also plays lacrosse. “I’m hard to tackle in the open field. I’m very fast. On defense, I play safety.”
Stevens has visited Cincinnati, Ohio State and West Virginia, in addition to Purdue, which he visited for the first time last weekend. He goes to Michigan October 14. After that, he treks to Duke Thanksgiving weekend.
“(Purdue was) really nice and had a spacious campus,” said Stevens. “I really liked it. The facilities were very modern.”
