2025 offensive lineman Lionel Prudhomme recaps recent Mississippi State visit
Earlier this month, 2025 offensive lineman and On3 three-star prospect Lionel Prudhomme made a return visit to Mississippi State. The Captain Shreve (La.) High School product was also on campus in January and felt comfortable again on campus with his return visit in April.
Holding numerous Power 5 offers, including Mississippi State, Prudhomme was able to get an inside look at State’s spring preparations. He is rated as the nation’s No. 55 interior offensive lineman and the state’s No. 22 prospect by On3 rankings.
“It was good being back,” Prudhomme recalled. “Everyone was showing the same energy they showed when I first visited and nothing really changed. We got to get in their position meetings, watch them practice and chop it up with Coach (Cody) Kennedy and Coach (Jeff) Lebby.”
Also during his stay in Starkville, Prudhomme was able to see the Bulldogs in action with the program’s second scrimmage of the spring. Naturally, he spent most of his time observing offensive line coach Cody Kennedy and his group.
“The scrimmage was great, actually,” added the 6-foot-3 and 305-pound Prudhomme. “It was a lot of physicality, a lot of competition. Everybody was getting after it and I was watching the offensive line the whole practice. I liked how Coach Kennedy was handling everything. Even if they messed up on a play, Coach Kennedy was right there and letting them know what they messed up and how they can fix it.”
Afterwards, Prudhomme met with Kennedy and head coach Jeff Lebby. And once again, he enjoyed the feedback he received from State’s staff.
“Coach Kennedy and Coach Lebby said I am one of their main priorities,” Prudhomme remarked. “They really want me to be at Mississippi State. They want me to be part of a special program.”
Thus far, Prudhomme has not scheduled any official visits in stone for the summer period. But he plans to look at that situation in the near future and will likely set up multiple official visits.
“Up next I will be going to Tulane,” noted Prudhomme. “So far I have visited Arkansas, Mississippi State and Texas Tech. I don’t have any official visits set this summer. I am looking at a couple of them but nothing has been set yet.”
Regarding his decision timeline, Prudhomme has also give that process some thought. He also noted of the programs catching his attention the most at this stage of his recruitment.
“I want to make my decision right after the summer ends, right before the season starts,” Prudhomme mentioned. “Right now and in no order, the ones standing out the most would be Texas Tech, Tulane, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Missouri, Arkansas and a couple more.”
