2025 Michigan Football Win Totals: Odds released for big season under Sherrone Moore

A season after going unbeaten and winning the national championship, the Michigan Wolverines hit the reset button. That saw the Wolverines deal with extensive turnover, both on the roster and the coaching staff when Sherrone Moore was promoted to replace Jim Harbaugh as the team’s head coach.
In the end, Michigan went 8-5 for the season. That came in a year when the Wolverines played four different College Football Playoff teams and stumbled in the middle of the season, losing four out of five Big Ten games at one point. Still, they finished strong, beating Ohio State and winning the ReliaQuest Bowl over Alabama.
At this point, FanDuel has set the 2025 win total for Michigan at 8.5 wins. They’re also listed at +146 to go under that win total and -188 to go over that win total.
The schedule in the Big Ten is never easy, and next season will be no exception for Michigan. After opening the season with a non-conference game against New Mexico, the Wolverines are on the road to play Oklahoma. Central Michigan then rounds out non-conference play before Michigan begins conference play on the road against Nebraska.
Michigan is going to avoid three of last year’s Playoff teams out of the Big Ten, only playing defending national champion Ohio State at the end of the season. However, there are a few very interesting games in conference play with teams that are looking to take steps forward as they develop as programs. That includes Washington and Michigan State in the second season for their respective coaches, Purdue with a new coach, and the Wisconsin and USC as they look to compete with their high profile coaches.
This offseason there is going to be an interesting quarterback battle at Michigan. Three quarterbacks played for Michigan in 2024, all of whom struggled. Now, Sherrone Moore has flipped that quarterback room going into the offseason. That included bringing in a veteran quarterback, Mikey Keene, as a transfer. He most recently was the starter at Fresno State. On top of that, the Wolverines added signed Bryce Underwood out of high school. A five-star recruit and the top-ranked player in the Class of 2025, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, he could also compete for playing time early.
There is still plenty of time for the makeup of the Michigan roster to change. After all, there is still the Spring Transfer Portal window and plenty of time to continue to develop as a team before the season kicks off at the end of August.
